Coffee? |
We're almost ready! No more than a few dozen hours at most and the first new combat arenas will be built in the main towns. Whilst waiting you can consult a help guide for this enormous innovation (new combat, new magic, new system of levels): here.
New Combat in Development |
As the preceding rumour announced, a new system of combat has been in development since last November. |
What will change?
Multi-Combat (rumour) |
"Whilst out walking my sheep near the castle yesterday everning, I saw two groups engaged in clandestine combat. It was a kind of impromptu arena and...there were sparks of magic or I don't know what! -Magic sparks? -Yes, I went back there this morning but the traces had disappeared. In any case there was also a careers officer who seemed to referee the fight. -Hmmm... Do you think that could have anything to do with the rumour of a new style of combat? -I don't know anything about it, it could indeed be tests. Hmmm let's change the subject, a guard's coming, I don't want to attract trouble..." Remarks exchanged between Loumior and RustyHead. |

New Crops |
New crops are arriving. You can now find corn seeds at the herbalist. These seeds are to be used in your field. It will be necessary to wait to harvest it before using them if you already have other crops planted. Also scheduled : flower seeds, mushroom spores! |
Profiles |
A profile system has been set up, to enable you to keep contact with your friends in a more user-friendly way. You can see at a glance the username of someone, click on your username at the top left to access this feature. Please note this is still in beta release. |
Beware of Malnutrition |
Our woolly darlings are sometimes neglected, this is why the following change of rules rules was introduced. Sheep will not lose weight indefinitely as was the case before. However if they suffer from malnutrition, any disease could be fatal for them if it is not quickly treated by the veterinary surgeon. Moreover malnutrition has a series of negative effects:
These new rules come into force as from this evening. |
Hotels |
Some villages have recently built a hotel.
The purpose of a hotel is to offer a place for visitors to the village to stay for a modest price (2 fetis for a night for the traveller and his companions). Interestingly, the hotelier is in contact with a network throughout the kingdom making it possible for the traveller to remotely feed the remaining animals in his sheepfold. We recommend that you visit City-Royale (5 kilometers to the north of Moutonpolis), which is particularly accessible. PS: We are informed that Barbarombe, Imladris, Herbes-Sauvage and Moutonpolis have also opened hotels. |

Creation of the Duchy of CieuxDate: 25 February 2008Author: Alex |
On this day of February 25, 2008, the Duchy of Cieux is officially created. It draws its name from the Cieux mount, culminating at 3200 meters and dominating the mountain neighbourhood. |
This new duchy is mainly made up of mountains in which some very warlike shepherds live, due to the cold and altitude, but also there is a deep valley full of air currents, within which one can find splendid forests. Two principal cities are located there: Aux belles rencontres, and la roche aux fleurs. |
Village InformationI have copy/pasted this (and translated) from the main MK forums, this is written by Kargen, and should be of some help to English speakers:From this place comes all sorts of shepherds, decent, malicious, thieves, magicians, neutrals, speculators... We pass down the main street as usual when we go to feed our sheep in their sheepfold. All goes well, we travel without thinking through the city, when we stop in front of a wooden board, a sign entitled: Information for Visitors! What astonishment when we saw this! You cannot imagine! Intrigued by this new sign, I took the decision to go to see our good King to question him about this. Arriving at the Royal City which is the only city, along with Moutonpolis where shepherds of the Kingdom can live, I travelled towards the King's residence. After several attempts to get an audience with the King, I was finally able to question him to get an explanation about everything. He told me that he had given permission to stockbreeders to take possession of some hamlets that had been deserted for a long time. Thus the Royal Duchy was able to accomodate several new villages! Here is some information about the Royal Duchy and a map so as to better visualise it! The cities which make up this Duchy are Moutonpolis, Cité royale, Herbes-sauvage, Mora, Lacombe, Haute-lune, Le Hameau, Douane de la forêt, Barbarombe and Imladris. The Duchy has not only a Hospital, and a Prison, but also Royal Careers which you will be able to find on your way! Each city has leaders, a Mayor and an Assistant, who can nominate Secretaries, Moderators of the Wall etc... Each has the possibility of establishing imports, taxes, as well as its access controls. |

Making good use of the Search featureDid you know that you can check the pedigree of your sheep (brothers and sisters, parents and children) by using the "Search" field located at the top of this page? You just need to enter the name of the sheep and click on OK ! |
Opening of a Tavern in the Town!In the Tavern the old man Bobby sells drinks and hot meals and enables you to chat with other customers. By the warmth of the fireside you will be able to get assistance or help those who are new. |

Something is happening to the Echo of the Meadows! |
Faithful readers of the Echo of the Meadows, surprises await you in your next March issue which comes out tomorrow! Amongst them, new sections will be proposed to you by the Editorial staff: |
- in the section "Opinion" you will be allowed to express your opinions on diverse subjects so that different viewpoints can be compared. - the section "Investigation" will synthesise and analyse, starting from now and in each following month, the responses and opinions that you have sent us on the improvements made to the game recently, with reference to the subject proposed in each issue by our team. The word is yours on the Echo of the Meadows and we hope to have a large participation so that we can allow you to experience the world of Moutonking more intensely. Postscript: Even so it appears that stockbreeders with doubts like to be able to contact the editorial staff of the Echo of the Meadows so that they can receive advice and support... The sequel to this last minute information follows in the next issue... Good reading to all! |

A new bonus: Thief | |||
You will have discovered at the beginning of the week that there is an new ability that can be gained, let's see what it is. Definition : This is a special ability accessible at the transition from level 4 or 5. Condition: To have a Sociable sheep with a minimum of 1 point in reflexes. Capability : Sheep choosing this pathway are able to steal an item from the inventory of another sheepfold. |
Frequency : bonus usable only once per day, as long as you don't get caught in the act. Precision : Only one item can be stolen per theft. The probability of being the victim of a theft is small. Beware the consequences! If the sheep is caught stealing, it will be severely punished! Punishment : The apprehended sheep will be seen covered with tar and feathers, it loses 3 points of appearence, 5 points of morale, and sees its quality of wool reduced to the bare minimum; during this time, the sheep is unable to commit another theft. Duration : 20 days. Precision : There is a one in four chance to be caught in the act. It should be noted that rare items (mediapass, gifts and crystals) cannot be thieved; all the other items are placed on an equal footing. |
All the flocks converge towards Moutonpolis, carnival time is indeed there! The young lambs fidget with impatience and are decorated in a thousand ways, each one more amusing than the last. It is necessary to be well-decorated to be elected king of the carnival. Flower fights will be in progress all day and corn will abound in the green meadows of the Kingdom! Ginko and all the Team. |
Tar and Feathers! |
A new kind of gangster has just been born on Moutonking: thieves! It is a speciality accessible to level 4 or 5 for all Sociable sheep having at least 1 point in reflexes. These sheep are able to steal an item once per day from the inventory of another sheepfold, but beware! It is not something to be done lightly (the poor creature on the left, would you like your sheep to look like that?) |
Honey Pot |
A honey pot was offered to all inhabitants having a beehive to help them to protect it whilst awaiting the making of their first honey pots. |
New hives will be also delivered with this additional pot. |
New Choice |
A very peculiar technique has been discovered. It consists of one's sheep being able to crunch a wasp with its teeth.
Daring? SuperSheep would answer: "No, but rather amusing..." Sheep with at least 2 reflex points are now offered an additional choice at levels 4 and 5:
Devourer of Wasps (a very difficult technique which consists of crushing a wasp between the teeth. This gives XP and one point of morale).
