Jacob the guardian is used to put your game on hold. If you go away on holiday or if, for an unspecified reason, you know that you are not going to be able to take care of your animals for a certain period, then go to see the guardian in the town. He will take care of your animals for free until you return.
The guardian returns your animals to you as soon as you login to your account again, and your sheepfold will be in exactly the same state as it was when you last left it (shelter, trough, field and walk will be just as they were at the time of your departure).
Thus the guardian is very useful if you do not want to call upon the help of another stockbreeder or if you do not have a person whom you can trust to look after your animals during your absence. Having the guardian makes it possible not to have to give out your password and thus prevents account abuse or theft.
Note that the age of your sheep continues to move forward even in the care of the guardian.
NB : For the moment, leaving a pregnant ewe, a ram awaiting the birth of a lamb or a lamb being weaned with Jacob will result in the event being delayed until the day following your next login.
